COVID 19 Training Update
Fire Dragon is pleased to announce that we are able to return to normal training, including contact, in accord with Stage 2.2 of the ACT's Covid restrictions.
- We will continue to emphasise good hygiene:
- No student or instructor may come into class if showing signs of any illness (other than known chronic conditions).
- Everyone's temperature is taken on entry, and must be below 37.4 C.
- Hands must be cleaned regularly including every entry to the classroom. Hand sanitiser is provided.
- Surfaces are cleaned with disinfectant before and after class.
- Equipment is disinfected after use.
If any student or instructor would prefer to work without contact please let the Chief Instructor know - so we can accommodate your needs.
Fire Dragon follows the policies and practices of Kung Fu Wushu Australia, Kung Fu Wushu ACT (KWACT) and is compliant with the Martial Arts Industry Association COVID Safe program.
YOUR SAFETY
Fire dragon takes the safety of our students, instructors and our community seriously. We apply the Covid Safe Martial Arts School Policy, endorsed by Kung Fu Wushu Australia (the National body), and Kung Fu Wushu ACT (our local State Sporting Association, of which we are a Member).
All our Instructors have completed the Covid Safe Martial Arts School Certification Program provided by the Martial Arts Industry Association.
This (free) course has been developed for all Australian Martial Arts Instructors to help ensure that their classes are conducted as safely as possible in the current Covid-19 pandemic. Staying up to date with current guidelines and local information and requirements, Instructors have acquired the knowledge to keep their students - and themselves - safe, and in accord with Government advice and regulations.
Covid-19 in the ACT
As ACT Covid-19 restrictions have been relaxed to Stage 2.2, and Fire Dragon classes can now be conducted with contact between students, and students and Instructors. We maintain class hygiene procedures, with the following provisions:
No student or instructor feeling unwell should come to class.
All people entering class have their temperatures checked on entry.
Everyone is required to use the provided hand sanitiser every time they enter the class room, and are encouraged to use it throughout class.
All surfaces including seating, benches, light switches and door handles are disinfected before and after every class.
Strike pads and other class equipment is held by one person only and disinfected after class.
Any student who prefers to avoid contact will be trained in that way.
