Fire Dragon Queanbeyan
Introduction | Classes | News and Events
I am Sifu Patrick Bellchambers, the senior student of Master Neal Hardy and first Australian graded black belt in Pai Lum Kung Fu. In February 2003 I opened the second Fire Dragon club in Australia, teaching the Way of the White Dragon.
Here you will find Fire Dragon Queanbeyan's upcoming events, as well as reports on tournaments, gradings and demonstrations.
Pai Lum is a family style, and Fire Dragon Queanbeyan is no exception. We all help each other, in class and outside. Every month we try go out for drinks after class, just to socialise. We often stay after class to catch up or to talk through aspects of life and martial arts. We also go to the Ainslie drinks with our Canberra brothers and sisters whenever we can.
Our classes are relaxed and friendly, and if a new students feels a bit nervous about joining, that doesn't last long. However our style is also one where rank is really earned, through hard work, dedication and experience, and as such all rank is respected from White Sash to Black Belt and above.
I hope this page has been interesting and useful, as an introduction to our Queanbeyan club, and our particular emphases. We are a member of Fire Dragon Australia, teaching Pai Lum Kung Fu, and maintain our strong links with Master Hardy who teaches in Ainslie, and with his teacher, Grandmaster Thomas St Charles, in the USA.
Students are welcome to train with both myself and with Master Hardy, so it is possible to train up to four times a week, thus learning more rapidly - but also benefiting from the slightly different approaches that different Instructors offer.
